Rethinking Technology- Building X – Leap into the future

Come and join the Building X Platform Developer Enablement Team. Building X is a scalable digital building platform to digitalize, manage and optimize building operations, allowing for enhanced user experience, increased performance, and improved sustainability.

The Developer Enablement Team empowers BX developers to leverage BX Platform Core Cloud Services effectively and autonomously through education, support, tools and resources, enabling them to build scalable, resilient, and efficient cloud-based solutions.

What part will you play?

As Developer Advocate/Evangelist you will promote the BX Platform, Services and APIs to developers through various channels such as conferences, meetups, webinars, and social media. You will act as liaisons between the developer community and the organization, gathering feedback and advocating for developer needs internally.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Promotion and Outreach: Represent the organization at conferences, meetups, webinars, and other relevant events to promote the BX platform, services, and APIs. Create engaging content such as blog posts, tutorials, documentation, videos, and demos to showcase the capabilities and benefits of the platform to developers. Utilize social media channels to share updates, announcements, and resources related to the platform and engage with the developer community.

  • Liaison between Developer Community and Organization: Act as a bridge between the developer community and internal teams within the organization, including product management, engineering, and marketing. Gather feedback from developers about their experiences, needs, and challenges when using the platform, services, and APIs.

  • Advocate for developer needs and priorities internally to ensure that they are addressed in product development and strategy.

  • Community Building: Build and nurture a vibrant developer community around the platform by organizing meetups, hackathons, and other community events.

  • Facilitate online forums, discussion groups, and social media communities where developers can connect, share knowledge, and support each other.

  • Feedback and Improvement: Provide regular reports and updates to internal stakeholders on developer engagement, feedback, and trends in the developer community. Work closely with product management and engineering teams to prioritize and advocate for features, improvements, and bug fixes based on developer feedback and needs. Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and developer preferences to ensure that the platform remains competitive and meets the evolving needs of developers.

Use your skills to move the world forward.

  • Experience working in a complex environment, working with multinational teams across the world.

  • Strong understanding of software development concepts, programming languages, web technologies, APIs, and developer tools. Genuine empathy for developers and a strong desire to advocate for their needs within the Building X Platform.

  • Experience delivering promotional materials and organizing events (Hackathons, Lunch and Learn, etc). Comfort and experience with public speaking are important, as a Developer Evangelist you will often present at conferences, meetups, webinars, and other events.

  • Open minded, people orientedand strong communications skills. Able to establish partnerships, collaborate with external organizations, and represent the organization positively in the developer community.

  • Desire to learn about state-of-the-art Technologies, Methodologies and Cloud. A genuine passion for technology, innovation, and the developer community.

  • Enjoys working and interacting with diverse and large groups of people.
